Our History is short, but full of growth.
On February 14, 2009 the Florida Young Naturists network was created. With no budget and a 1 year website sponsorship through The Naturist Society and Sunsport Gardens, FYN was born.
The first event was planned for April 10-12, 2009 and was named Naked Spring Break, held at Sunsport Gardens, Florida. The event was free and attracted nearly 60 young people to our camping community. Over 100 attended our tribal drumming and dance circle. There were professional drummers, a body painter, yoga instructor and DJ who all donated their time and talent for this event. This event provided a great alternative to usual spring break style activities, which can be costly and traditionally unhealthy. This event promoted body acceptance and freedom, along with healthy activities like yoga and meditation.
Throughout the summer our network grew through beach and resort outings and even two private Naked Sushi parties in downtown West Palm Beach.
On August 14-16, 2009 our second organized event was held, End of Summer Bash at Sunsport Gardens. Similar numbers were seen at this event, including a lot of new faces.
We recently celebrated our 1 year anniversary on February 14, 2010!
Our 2nd annual Naked Spring Bash was held April 9-11, over 150 young adults attended! We held our 2nd Annual End of Summer Bash in August with 140 young adults. Our first Georgia event was held at Paradise Valley in September and attracted a new crowd in the North Georgia area. We implemented a Winter Gathering in December, which was held at Sunsport Gardens.
Help us make 2011 a success and to keep our events as free as possible!
Costs:
We are the future of naturism! We need financial support to help with costs.
The costs include everything from website and other data costs, legal paperwork, local advertising, PO box rental, rental fees for festival setup and more.
All money donated will go directly
to cost and development of our events and cause. If you make a
donation, you will receive our newsletter that will include everything from upcoming events, naturist news and volunteer or other help needed.
The Future:
Our next event will be April 8-10, 2011, the 3rd annual Naked Spring Bash.
We plan to hold our two main annual Sunsport events each April and August, The Naked Spring Bash and Naked End of Summer Bash. The Winter Gathering was implemented last December and now we have 3 main events yearly, one every 4 months. This eliminates the sense of disconnect from August to April.
FYN Photos:
We have had a problem with our photos being taken from the site and posted elsewhere across the internet without our permission. We have
hundreds of amazing photos to share of our events and outings. To ensure that our photos are only being accessed by members and those true to our
cause, our galleries are now private. Please do not repost our photos without permission!
Access to our galleries will be given with your sponsorship, you will receive your gallery password within 24 hours of becoming a member or sponsor.
